On Saturday 20 May the School hosted the first Boomer Lunch for those Rugbeians who left the School 50 or more years ago and their guests. We were delighted that former tutors, Geoff Helliwell and Geoffrey Boys were also able to join us for the lunch held in the Collingwood Centre Hall and Quad.
After the lunch many of our guests joined guided tours of the School and their old house; there was certainly much admiration for the carpets, running hot water and other facilities now enjoyed by the pupils.
The Head Master, Peter Green, welcomed guests and spoke of the many exciting events that are still to come in this 450th Anniversary year of the School. Dinti Batstone (D 88-90) and Chude Chidi-Ofong (Sh 85-90) also spoke passionately about their involvement with the School and our aim to secure 450 legacy pledges by the end of the year. If you would like any more information about becoming one of our 450 please do contact the Development Office.
It was an wonderful afternoon with many memories recalled and friendships renewed.
Below are some photos from the day.
